Big-business thinking for resilient future-ready growth
The biggest risk facing your business is not disruption itself. It is the gap between how fast disruption is moving and how ready your organisation is to respond.I help business leaders and leadership teams understand where they stand, sharpen their priorities, strengthen performance and build the resilience to protect the value they have built and pursue growth with confidence.I bring nearly three decades of international cross-sector experience, including twenty years of executive leadership at Board level and independent advisory, to established and ambitious organisations ready to grow.

Growth Can Hide Risk
We are living in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world. The external landscape in which businesses operate today is moving faster than most organisations can track. The last five years have seen more changes than the last 50 combined.AI is reshaping industries and competitive positions. Geopolitical tensions are rising and disrupting supply chains and cost bases. Cyber threats are growing. Fraud is getting more sophisticated. Economic pressure is squeezing margins and making funding more expensive. Severe weather incidents and regulatory shifts are impacting operations daily. Some of these changes open up amazing opportunities and innovation which your business needs to be ready to seize. Yet these turbulent times also create faster-moving, interconnected complex risks that need to be understood, anticipated and managed for the organisation to survive and thrive.Exposure is not only on the outside. An entrepreneurial mindset and fast growth are essential, but as a business scales, internal management architecture must grow alongside it. More people, customers, markets and systems create opportunity, but they also generate complexity. That complexity creates exposure that is genuinely difficult to see from the inside until something goes wrong. What worked yesterday may no longer be enough to protect tomorrow. Critical knowledge concentrates in a small number of people. Warning signs reach leadership too late. Important decisions are made without a clear understanding of the risks and trade-offs.This is where an independent, experienced perspective makes all the difference.
Does Any of This Sound Familiar?
Your business has grown significantly, but you are not confident your organisation has the right checks, governance and risk thinking to protect the value you have built.
You have ambitious growth plans and you want to make sure the foundations are genuinely strong enough to support them.
Problems keep emerging that consume more leadership time and energy than they should.
Too much depends on a small number of key people, customers, suppliers or systems.
You are heading into a period of significant change new products or services, new markets, restructuring, acquisition, IPO, AI adoption and you want a clear-eyed view of your exposure before you commit.
AI and digital disruption are accelerating. You know your priorities need to evolve, but you are not sure where to start.
You want to strengthen performance and stop value from leaking and you want a fresh outside perspective on where the gaps actually are.
If any of these resonate, you are in the right place.
No judgement. No obligation. Just a clearer picture of where you stand.
How Resilient and Prepared Is Your Business?
Ten questions. Two minutes. An immediate result. The Business Resilience & Performance Check gives you an indicative view of where your organisation appears strongest and where it may need closer attention. It covers strategic clarity, performance visibility, leadership resilience, critical dependencies, AI readiness and the capacity to manage disruption and change. Most leaders score somewhere between 14 and 22. Where do you sit?Your result is based entirely on your own responses. Think of it as a prompt for an honest conversation with yourself, and if useful, with me.
Your responses are used to provide your result and to respond to your request. Completing this Check does not automatically subscribe you to marketing. See our Privacy Notice below.
Over nearly three decades, I have worked inside some of the most complex and high-stakes organisations in the world, rebuilding functions under regulatory scrutiny, leading transformation programmes across multiple international markets, and helping Boards and leadership teams make better decisions in conditions of complexity and uncertainty. That same quality of thinking - clear, commercially grounded, with no agenda inside your business is what I bring to every client I work with today, whatever their size. The size and complexity vary. The quality of thinking required does not.
Client Voices
“I have never seen a Managing Director stand up at a leadership conference and publicly praise the quality of a risk workshop, but that is what happened. Rania got senior people genuinely engaged and made a real, lasting impact on how our organisation thinks about and manages risk.”
- Christian Goeseke, Former Group CFO, Arriva
“She listened first. She asked the right questions. She rolled up her sleeves and worked alongside us, and the result was advice and structures that genuinely fit our business. The work she did moved the dial for us. I would recommend her without hesitation.”
- Dany Njeim, Chief Executive Officer, Njeim Group
“Rania brought a fresh perspective and real clarity at a moment of significant complexity. She cut through the noise and helped us focus on the risks that genuinely mattered.”
- Martin Harrison, Former CFO, Hibu
“Her preparation showed genuine command of our context, and her facilitation drew honest, substantive discussion from a senior, not-easily-impressed group. The best measure of a workshop's design is whether the room keeps using its language afterward. Ours does.”
- Dr Silvina Coria, Director Office of Internal Oversight, Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

Building Resilient, Future-Ready Organisations
Someone independent from your business with a fresh perspective, focused entirely on you.I help established and growing organisations strengthen resilience and performance, protect and grow the value they have built, and prepare for a changing world.
I work directly with founders, Managing Directors, CEOs, CFOs, Board Chairs and senior leadership teams, including Risk leaders when in place, to give them a clear view of where their business is exposed, what could undermine performance or growth, and what deserves their attention first. My approach is practical, proportionate and grounded in what actually works. Fit-for-purpose thinking, not generic frameworks. I build real working relationships and care about getting it right for your business, your team and your strategy.
Three Things I Give You
Clarity: A clear view of where your business stands: what is working well, where you are exposed, and what deserves attention first.
Confidence: Your leadership team aligned on priorities and what to do next, so important decisions are made with a clearer understanding of the facts, the risks and the trade-offs
Action: A practical plan that translates insight into decisions your team can act on, not a report for the shelf.
Who I Work With
I work with founders, Managing Directors, CEOs, CFOs, Board Chairs and senior leadership teams in established, growing and changing organisations, from ambitious scale‑ups to businesses with thousands of employees operating across multiple markets and sectors. My work is particularly relevant when your business has grown faster than its management practices and risk thinking; when you are entering new markets, restructuring, acquiring, or navigating AI and digital change; when you have experienced repeated operational surprises; or when you want big‑business thinking applied proportionately, without the overhead of an in‑house function.I have worked across technology, telecoms, transportation, media, infrastructure, chemicals, financial services, oil and gas, heavy industry and the UN system, in the UK, continental Europe, the US, Canada, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. If your business operates across markets and cultures, so do I.

Why Work With Me
I have spent nearly three decades doing this work across some of the most complex organisations in the world. I started my career in Australia at Qantas Airways and then GE Money, before moving to the UK, where I built my analytical foundations at Deloitte Enterprise Risk Services on Risk, Internal Audit and Assurance engagements for clients including British Airports Authority, Corus Steel, QVC, Cadbury Schweppes, Schroders, Cable & Wireless and Royal Jordanian Airways. As a three-time Chief Risk and Audit Executive at VEON, FirstGroup and Colt Technology Services, I led functions reporting directly to Boards and Audit Committees across five continents, on governance, strategic, financial and operational challenges that demand serious commercial judgement. At VEON, a $10 billion NASDAQ-listed telecoms company, I was hired to solve the problem and rebuilt Internal Audit across 10 countries under intense regulatory scrutiny following a corruption case that resulted in $1 billion in fines. My team delivered the risk and assurance capability that secured SEC and DOJ approval to complete the Deferred Prosecution Agreement, rebuilding trust and delivering results when the stakes could not have been higher. At Colt Technology Services, I built enterprise risk management and transformed Internal Audit across 14 markets, identifying cost-reduction and revenue opportunities exceeding GBP 80 million. At FirstGroup, the transportation business, I strengthened the organisation's ability to identify, assess and respond to risk across a complex, geographically dispersed business.Since founding RB Advisory & Consultancy in 2019, I have worked with organisations of very different sizes and sectors. When Arriva, a multi-billion pan-European transportation business owned by Deutsche Bahn, was preparing for a major ownership change, I advised the CFO and led the enterprise risk management implementation across 10 countries, developed their Governance Framework and Board reporting, and helped position them for a successful private equity acquisition by the PE firm I Squared Capital.I advised the CFO of Hibu, the CEO of Seadrill and the CFO of Mibau Stema, a leading European aggregates business, on governance, risk and business concerns at critical moments for each organisation. When Euroclear, the international financial institution, needed to step up their Internal Audit team's AI readiness, I assessed and helped transform their capabilities and ways of working. When Fragomen the law firm, ADQ and OQ in the Middle East, the UN system, including the World Food Programme (WFP), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) needed to strengthen their teams, I designed and delivered specialist workshops that gave them practical tools to step up their leadership performance.I have also mentored 25+ leaders who have since progressed to Chief Risk Officer, Chief Audit Executive and Chief Financial Officer roles.I collaborate regularly with organisations including The Corporate Governance Institute, CIMA, ICAEW, IIA, ACFE and others, running programmes and speaking at events globally.
How I Work
When you engage me, you work with me personally.I believe in building real working relationships. I am focused on you, your priorities, your situation and your strategy. I speak your language of business, not the language of consultants. You will not receive a polished output designed to impress other advisers. You will receive something you can actually use.I listen carefully, ask the right questions, and care about getting it genuinely right for your business. Every conversation will move you forward. You will always receive an honest, objective view and a fresh strategic perspective, not advice shaped by what is easy or convenient to hear.Confidentiality is fundamental to how I work. I am happy to discuss a Non-Disclosure Agreement before any substantive conversation if that matters to you.English, Arabic and French are my working languages.I use AI actively in my own practice, I have been on that learning journey for several years, and that hands-on experience shapes how I think about what it means for your business specifically. Not as a theory, but as a practical reality with real decisions attached. If I am not the right fit for what you need, I will tell you and point you in the right direction.
